Essential Oils
Essential oils are the natural fragrant essence extracted from flowers, leaves, bark, roots, fruit peel and berries. For example when you peel an orange, smell a rose or touch some lavender it is the essential oil you are inhaling.
These scents can trigger powerful emotions and memories as well as helping us to relax, sleep and conditions surrounding the skin and muscles to name a few.
Here are three of my favourites, in particular Womens Balance – a blend of rose, geranium and frankincense. It is a lovely essential oil to use anytime of the day. I particularly like to diffuse my mine in my office during the day and then in the bedroom in the evening.
Rose is helpful for aiding depression, aiding digestive issues, rejuvenating skin with its cooling, relaxing and toning properties. Geranium, of which I love the smell of is great for balancing the mind and emotions, relieving pain and balancing all skin types. Frankincense is wonderfully uplifting and good for improving skin tone, reducing scar tissue and can help to aid concentration.
Essential Oils can be used in diffusers (right), room sprays, candles, baths, blended with a base oil to be used for massage.
Good oils to use to aid relief in anxiety, stress and depression levels are lavender, rose, orange, bergamot, neroli and sandlewood.
